Delegates boycott Nepad business summitMost delegates have boycotted the first Europe-Africa Business Summit held in Hamburg, Germany. The summit, hosted by the New Partnership for Africa’s Development (Nepad) Council, is aimed at bringing public and private sector investors together to raise awareness of Africa's commercial potential
Tumenta Kennedy from the Nepad Council says lobby groups in Europe have discouraged delegates from attending. He says these groups are intent on keeping the perception alive that Africa does not have the ability or the money to set up independent business partnerships with European companies.
Some delegates have blamed the low turn out on poor organisation. Nigerian businesswoman Feyi Soloude-George says it's high time that Africans showed discipline, consistency and honesty. From sabcnews.com Mardi 29 Avril 2008
